Roundhouse Hot Sauce didn’t start in a lab. It started around a braai.

In our family, cooking was never optional. Both grandfathers were professional cooks, and both parents worked in catering. Food wasn’t just prepared; it was debated, refined, and shared with whoever happened to arrive. There was always enough, and there was always heat.

Chilli wasn’t just an ingredient. It was part of the culture. At every gathering, someone pushed the limits, someone claimed they could handle more, and somewhere between the bravado and the laughter was a simple truth: heat only matters if the flavour is worth it.

That idea became the foundation of Roundhouse.

We focus on what many hot sauces overlook. Instead of relying on vinegar and sharpness, we build around the chilli itself. African Bird’s Eye brings brightness and intensity, while habanero adds depth and fruit. The result is what we call delicious pain — a sauce that sits just beyond comfort, without ever sacrificing enjoyment.

Crafted in Cape Town in small batches, Roundhouse reflects a food culture that is bold, layered, and expressive. It is not designed as a novelty heat challenge, but as a sauce you actually want to eat, whether at a braai, over a proper meal, or on whatever is left in the fridge the next day.
